Está que se sale con su atlantismo: el presidente de la FAES, José María Aznar, participará este martes, 1º de Mayo, en Washington, en la reunión inaugural del Comité Asesor Internacional del Consejo Atlántico de Estados Unidos. El Consejo Atlántico es una asociación privada que se encarga de promover la construcción del liderazgo y el compromiso en asuntos de política exterior, basándose en el papel central de la comunidad atlántica en el marco del panorama internacional del siglo XXI.
Una ‘celebración’ en la que también participarán la secretaria de Estado, Condoleezza Rice, y el secretario de Defensa, Robert Gates, junto a otros invitados como el senador Barack Obama.
Y en este 1º de Mayo el Comité Asesor Internacional del Consejo Atlántico abordará, bajo el título global de “Riesgos globales y oportunidades de diálogo”, la responsabilidad transatlántica y las oportunidades globales, así como los cambios económicos y estratégicos internacionales, entre otros asuntos.
En fin, que Aznar aceptó a comienzos de año la invitación para formar parte del Comité Asesor Internacional del Consejo Atlántico junto a Alexander Kwasniewski; Thomas Enders, presidente de EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company); el presidente de Deutsche Bank, Josef Ackermann, y Zbignew Brzezinski, ex asesor del ex presidente de Estados Unidos, Jimy Carter, entre otros.
