La orwelliana serie 'Cuento de la Criada', gran triunfadora de los Premios Emmy

Ha sido la serie de la temporada, según muchos, y en gran parte se lo debe a su protagonista, Elisabeth Moss, la inolvidable Peggy Olson de 'Mad Men'. 'El cuento de la criada', normalmente conocida por su título original, 'The Handmaid's Tale', se ha hecho con los galardones a Mejor drama, Mejor actriz y Mejor actriz de reparto. Demasiado premio para una serie basada en el libro de mismo título de Margaret Atwood. Un gran éxito para la productora Hulu.

Esta necesaria historia feminista y que denuncia la creación de una sociedad distópica en EEUU donde una élite de militares y conservadores se han hecho con el control del país, limitando derechos y libertades ante un desastre natural por el cual casi todas las mujeres han quedado infértiles, lo tiene todo, sí, pero sabe demasiado a '1984' de George Orwell. No sólo eso, sino que la serie, pese a las grandes actuaciones individuales del reparto, es demasiada lenta y previsible, por mucho que haya fascinado a una legión de nuevos fans.

La segunda en premios ha sido otra cinta con mujeres como protagonistas, 'Big Little Lies', el duro drama de la HBO protagonizado por una renacida Nicole Kidman. Ganó el premio a la mejor Miniserie y la mejor actriz de miniserie (Kidman) y también habla del maltrato a la mujer, esta vez el tradicional y físico.

Ya con menos sorpresas, 'Veep' volvió a ganar como 'Mejor comedia' consiguió otro premio para Julia Louis-Dreyfus como Mejor actriz de comedia.

Las tres fueron ofrecidas a los 'serieadictos' desde la plataforma HBO, con lo que este año su hegemonia ha sido total frente a Netflix. Esta segunda se quedó con premios también destacados pero menos estelares como el premio a mejor capítulo y guión para 'San Junípero', de la original serie 'Black Mirror'.

Ha llamado y mucho la atención, por contra, el vacío de galardones de algunas series brillantes como 'House of Cards', 'Stranger Things', 'Better call Saul' y las más 'mainstream, 'Juego de Tronos' y 'The Walking Dead'. La primera no obtuvo nominaciones porque las temporadas de las series debían ser estrenadas entre el 1 de junio de 2016 y el 31 de mayo de 2017. La segunda sólo estaba nominada a mejor maquillaje.
